We did try the spaghetti bolognese that Laura had posted and it is very good!! I had some homemade sauce in the freezer that I used for it. I also made Sam's French bread--YUM!! I used 2 cups all purpose flour and 2 cups whole wheat flour. I got a bit over zealous while making the 1/4 inch slices in the bread---I think I went more like 1/2 inch, so my bread wasn't very pretty, but it was super good!! I better start making lots of French bread, because I even bought the special pan for it!!
I also made Ree's carrot cake. Yum! I must say I thought it was much better cold. I had some the second day out of the fridge and loved it--and I wasn't crazy for it the first night at room temp.
We were bad and ate out twice last week, so we have a couple of meals to carry over.
*= new recipe
- Monday--honey mustard chicken, tomato artichoke pasta, salad
- Tuesday--beef tips, rice pilaf, steamed veggies
- Wednesday--honey balsamic chicken*, homemade spaetzle*, salad
- Thursday--breakfast for dinner--eggs, bacon, peanut butter banana bread* with homemade apricot preserves
- Friday--burgers with homemade buns, chips, salad

Sounds wonderful Candi!
Don't you just love that bread pan?! I love mine!
Now, i have a question, what did you use to cut your bread before baking? Did you get one of those speciality cutters? I want one so badly because none of my knives work without deflating the dough.
Before we moved, i went out and bought some razer blades and used those, but i lost them in the move and never replaced them. Plus, they are so tiny and i am afraid i will misplace them and my son will cut himself if he finds them.
On the bread, experiement with differnet spices and combinations. The last time i made it, i added in the garlic and italian seasoning but i also added in some Herbs De Provinc and then sprinkled some on top also before baking......heavenly!!! I want to try this bread with some poppy seeds on it. yummy!
Samantha, I used a filet knife and I had read a tip to spray the knife with non-stick spray. So, I sprayed the knife with Pam and it sliced it super easy---apparently too easily--LOL!
We will have this bread again and I will certainly experiment with the spices. Logan was super excited that we still have some bread and told me I could give it to him for breakfast and a snack!!
Everything looks great, thanks for sharing :)
