My kids were devestated to learn that George Washington was not buried in DC, and they wanted to go to Mount Vernon but we ran out of time. That is top of our list of places to go to now! (Yes I have the only children that wanted to go to DC instead of Disneyworld for summer vacation!)

Now there's a hay maze even a claustrophobian could love. I went in a hay maze once and became so unhinged that I started screaming and made all the kids behind me turn around and lead me out. Never. Ever. Again.
What fun! Hubby and I are history buffs (him more than me, but still..) and look forward to taking our kids to Mt. Vernon someday soon. (Just went to DC and Colonial Williamsburg last spring for the first time. Couldn't quite sqeeze in MV, too.) Looks awesome!

Don't you love it when your kids have fun and learn something, too. Even if they only learn that people dressed differently a long time ago.
Looks like loads of fun!! We just moved to GA from the DC area and I really miss the falls there!!
Oh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mount Vernon. We lived in VA for a few years, and I harbored a strong secret desire to get a season pass there. It's such a beautiful, majestic place. Looks like the festival was fun, too. How nice for your boys to be able to experience the history!
