This week Themommykelly has asked us to share our tunes!! I turned on my iTunes (I was too lazy to get my iPod) and put it on shuffle. Here is a list of the first 12 songs that came on--I like variety!
Sarah, over at Mymommyology, is having her very first giveaway and it looks like a great one! I think that Lucas would love the Braincandy DVDs---I think that Logan would even enjoy them!! Head on over and sign up to win!!
We did try the spaghetti bolognese that Laura had posted and it is very good!! I had some homemade sauce in the freezer that I used for it. I also made Sam's French bread--YUM!! I used 2 cups all purpose flour and 2 cups whole wheat flour. I got a bit over zealous while making the 1/4 inch slices in the bread---I think I went more like 1/2 inch, so my bread wasn't very pretty, but it was super good!! I better start making lots of French bread, because I even bought the special pan for it!! I also made Ree'scarrot cake. Yum! I must say I thought it was much better cold. I had some the second day out of the fridge and loved it--and I wasn't crazy for it the first night at room temp.
We were bad and ate out twice last week, so we have a couple of meals to carry over. *= new recipe
Nicknames. I honestly don't recall any that kids called me in school, but I certainly had my share of teasing. Having the name Candi and being pudgy are not a fun combination...oh and if you only knew my maiden name that went along with it--not fun at all!!
So--back to the nicknames. When I was little, my dad would call me toot-toot. I'm not really sure why, but I liked it. And, even though the song wasn't fitting, I liked that there was a song, "Don't Mess with My Toot-toot"..LOL!!
I spent lots of time with my dad's parents and to my Pa-pa, I was "wittle girl". Oh, how I miss my Pa-pa.
My older siblings called me Can-can---and now I am simply Can (by the way, my sister is Audra and to me she is simply Aud!).
My husband called me Nummy Muffin Coo Coo Butter for a while and I had no idea where it came from until now. Nice...LOL!!
5 minutes for mom is having a photo contest and they are asking you to find the picture that symbolizes motherhood to you. Wow---is it hard to choose one, but here is what I settled on.... If you've ever been to my blog, then chances are you noticed this picture. To me, the series of hand pictures that I have in my header symbolizes motherhood. I met and married the love of my life and we've since added two sweet boys to our family. This picture of our hands represents our family and I truly get emotional looking at it. It is true that there is no way to describe the love a mother has for her children. I am truly blessed. Logan and Lucas are the sweetest boys and I can not imagine my life without them. Being their momma is the best feeling in the world.
