For a long while we have talked about putting the boys in the same room, but just haven't done it. They each had cheapy dressers that were falling apart. I decided that if I was going to buy a new dresser (to us....I got it on Craigslist), then I may as well buy one they could share and go ahead and put them in one room.
They both said they wanted to share a room, so it was a go! The only thing I have left to do is organize the closet and then I will add another rod in there so that they can also share a closet!
Here is Lucas's room before. It is a very small room, but worked well for him. He insisted in being in the picture. :-)
Here is Logan's room before. This isn't exactly how it was, because the new dresser was already in there. Picture the dresser gone, with a tall dresser (painted white and mint green.....he's had it since he was a baby) to the left of the bookshelf and that is how his before would be.
And here is how it is now! I had a dilema with the bunk bed. I think technically there is supposed to be more of a head board at the top. In order to accomplish that, I would not have been able to keep the drawers under the bed. Since Logan is 9, I figured he should be fine. We opted to have him climb the end of the bed instead of putting the ladder there to help prolong Lucas getting onto the top bunk. :-) So far it hasn't been an issue, but if the drawers have to go, I will lower the bottom bunk, then lower the top bunk and then just buy something else to store toys in that will fit under the bed.
And by the way, it only took two nights for Lucas to adjust. Now he goes to sleep with no issues. Those first two nights he just couldn't resist that the drawer under his bed had cars he could play with! :-)
